Clare Jensen playing lacrosse.

ROCK ISLAND, IL - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team was defeated by Augustana 22-4 on Saturday afternoon on the road. Kalamazoo is now 3-4 overall this season, while Augustana moves to 9-1.

The first half was really when the Hornets got hit hard. They were outscored 14 to 2 and that was just too much to climb back from.

In the second half the Hornets only managed another two goals, but their defense was a lot more solid, reducing the Vikings' goals to eight. The Vikings played 24 girls today and the Hornets played 13.

Vethania Stavropoulos and Anika Sproull had two goals each for Kalamazoo and were responsible for all of the Hornets points. Katie Johnson made 16 saves for the Hornets in goal.

The Hornets play their next match Tuesday, April 7 against Trine in Kalamazoo.
