Women's Lacrosse downed at Calvin

Alivia DuQuet playing lacrosse.

Grand Rapids, MI - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team was defeated 16-9 by Calvin on Tuesday evening. Kalamazoo is now 4-8 overall, and 2-4 in MIAA play.

The two teams played very even to start the game. There were three different ties in the first half. The score was sitting at 3-3 when things got away from Kalamazoo as the Knights closed the half on a 4-0 run and went into halftime leading 7-3. In the second half Kalamazoo came out really strong and with just over 20 minutes remaining cut the lead to 9-7. Unfortunately for the Hornets once again they weren't able to keep up for an entire half and the Knights ended the game on a 7-2 run.

Alivia DuQuet had a monster game for Kalamazoo with five goals. Anika Sproull scored the second most on the team tonight with two, while Nicole Huff and Cecilia DiFranco had one goal each. Katie Johnson had eight saves in goal.

The Hornets second to last game of the season is Thursday, Apr. 23 at Saint Mary's (Ind.).
