WHITTIER, Calif. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team concluded its four-game west coast trip Friday evening but the Hornets were unfortunately not able to end the week on a high note.
Kalamazoo was defeated by Whitter College, 18-3.
The Hornets looked to be up for the challenge from the start as Nicole Huff scored the game's first goal at the 28:26 mark of the first half.
But Whittier responded in strong fashion. Over the final 28 minutes of the half, Whitter scored 13 goals and took what proved to be a definitive lead into halftime.
Anika Sproull added the Hornets' two other goals in the second half. Her first goal came with 20:35 remaining and her second came at the 8:44 mark.
Da Bin Lee recorded an assist on Sproull's first goal.
Kalamazoo will take a two week break from competition before beginning Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action on the road at Trine on April 9.
