Women's Lacrosse wins MIAA opener at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team opened MIAA play with a 12-0 win at Trine University on Saturday.

Kalamazoo scored the first goal of the match just over eight minutes into the contest and took a 7-0 lead into halftime.

The Hornets scored again just over three minutes into the second half and cruised to the 12-0 win.

Amanda Moss scored a career-high five goals on six shots to lead the Hornets.

Cecilia DiFranco scored twice on two shots while also assisting on two goals. Nicole Huff also scored twice.

Alivia DuQuet scored a goal with two assists while Vethania Stavropoulous and Hannah Meyers provided the other goals.

Katie Johnson recorded her first career shutout with seven saves in goal. She also was credited with six ground balls.

Anna Dairaghi picked up four ground balls with two draw controls while DiFranco and Allia Howard each had three ground balls.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Hope College on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m.
