KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team hoped to win its first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association home game Tuesday night against Hope, but the Dutch came away with a 10-6 win at MacKenzie Field.

After falling behind 5-1 at the half, Kalamazoo threatened to come back multiple times in the second half.

The two teams traded the first six goals of the second half, but a 3-0 run for the Hornets cut the deficit to 9-6.

That's as close as the Hornets would get, though, as Hope scored the final goal of the game with 3:02 remaining.

Offensively, Kalamazoo was led by Amanda Moss and Daria Lewis who each ended the game with two goals. Moss also recorded an assist.

Nicole Huff and Anna Dairaghi recorded a goal apiece.

Katie Johnson put in a stellar effort in goal for the Hornets allowing them to hang around the entire game. She recorded 18 saves on 29 shots.

The Hornets will look to bounce back this Saturday against Olivet.
