Women's Lacrosse dominates at Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team was ready to play from the get-go Saturday afternoon at Olivet as the Hornets scored eight goals in the first ten minutes of play as they cruised to a 21-0 win over the Comets.

Anna Dairaghi, Hannah Meyers and Nicole Huff paced the Hornet attack in the first half of play each scoring three goals apiece as K led 14-0 at the break.

The Hornets tacked on seven more goals in the second half led by two goals and an assist from Amanda Moss.

Overall, Huff led the Hornets' attack with five goals, while Moss ended with four goals and three assists.

Dairaghi and Meyers each ended with three goals while Vethania Stavropoulos and Caroline Mundell combined for four goals and three assists.

Katie Johnson, the reigning MIAA Defensive Player of the Year, picked up her first shutout of 2017.

The Hornets, now 2-2 in the MIAA and right in the thick of the postseason hunt, will look to improve to 3-2 on Tuesday, April 18 when they travel to Calvin College. The draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
