ORANGE, Calif. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team dropped its first of two games in California on Tuesday as Chapman downed the Hornets 15-8.

The Hornets struck first this evening as Rose Bogard found the back of the net for the first of her two goals of the evening. Mackenzie Maiorano answered with a goal of her own less than a minute later. The Panthers answered with five goals in the half to take a 5-3 lead to the break.

Chapman found a groove on the offensive end in the second half to outscore Kalamazoo 10-5 and secure a 15-8 win.

Rachel Madar led the Hornets on the offensive end with three goals and one assist. The sophomore also added nine draw controls.

Rose Bogard and Amanda Moss each picked up two goals for Kalamazoo. Bogard collected nine ground balls.

Kalamazoo will conclude its spring trip on Friday with a game against Whittier that is set to start at 10 p.m.
