Women's Lacrosse Loses to Albion

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team dropped its home game with Albion on Tuesday evening by a final score of 11-8.

The visiting Britons got on the board early this evening with three unanswered goals in the first 10 minutes. Rachel Madar responded for the Hornets with four straight goals to give Kalamazoo a 4-3 lead.

Albion outpaced Kalamazoo 3-1 in the final eight minutes of the half to take a 6-5 lead into the halftime break. 

After trading goals to begin the second half, the Brits got two more to go to extend their lead to 9-6 with 8:17 to play. The Hornets brought the deficit back down to one with 6:30 to play, but their comeback attempt fell short as Albion converted on two late goals to secure the win.

The Hornets had a 27-22 edge in shots while also gaining a 22-15 advantage in shots on goal. Kalamazoo also won 12 of 21 draw controls. 

Rachel Madar led the Hornets with six goals and five draw controls. 

Amanda Moss and Leah Tardiff scored one goal each. Moss and Lilly Baumann each collected one assist. 

Kalamazoo continues MIAA play on Saturday, April 20 when it travels to Trine for a 1 p.m. game.
