Rose Bogard was named SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday. This is her third selection this season. She was also named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
A senior from Ann Arbor, Mich. (Community), Bogard scored 19 goals with three assists, 26 ground balls, 21 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers in three games last week.
Bogard helped lead the Hornets to wins over Guilford and Concordia Wisconsin and a one-goal loss at Pfeiffer. She scored at least five goals in each of the three games.
Her 11 points (9 goals, 2 assists) in Sunday's win over Concordia Wisconsin broke Kalamazoo's single game points record. She also surpassed the 100 career goal mark this week, currently with 109 for her career.
On the season, Bogard leads the Hornets with 47 goals and six assists for 53 points. She is the current NCAA Division III leader with 7.11 ground balls per game, and had an even higher rate this past week with 8.67 per game. She ranks fourth nationally in goals per game and caused turnovers per game.
Kalamazoo (6-3) is back in action at home against Mount Union next Sunday, April 3 at 11 a.m.
