ADA, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team won 4-0 at Heidelberg College on Saturday.

Kalamazoo jumped out to an early lead with a goal by Jordan Meeth just four minutes into the contest (Madeline Chilcote assist).

Suzanne Miller made it 2-0 Kalamazoo with a goal just before halftime in the 43rd minute (Jordan Lewis assist).

Elizabeth Clevenger (51:56) and Emma Tardiff (86:37) added insurance goals in the second half with assists from Sam Voss and Rachel Dandar, respectively.

"Three of our four goals were from freshmen," said Kalamazoo Head Coach Bryan Goyings. "It was good to see the production from some of our younger players and to see them score and contribute to the win."

Kalamazoo outshot Heidelberg 16-4 overall, including 11-2 on goal. Lucy Mailing made saves on both scoring attempts to earn the shutout in goal.

"It can be challenging playing back-to-back days," said Goyings. "I was pleased to see how we responded as a team.

"Rachel Dandar had an outstanding game, particularly in terms of winning balls and distribution," Goyings added. "Jordan Lewis also had several opportunities for assists and played great from the wing."

The Hornets are off from competition until Sept. 9 when they host Trine in the conference opener at MacKenzie Field at 7 p.m.
