ADRIAN - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team lost 2-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play at Adrian College on Tuesday.

Adrian's Alanna Chambry converted a rebound into the game's first goal just over six minutes into the contest.

Kalamazoo evened the score when Sydney Spring beat the Bulldogs' keeper at the 13:32 mark (Bronte Payne assist).

Adrian pulled ahead 2-1 with Chambry's second goal of the game in the 31st minute. The Bulldogs took the 2-1 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo outshot Adrian 5-2 in the second half, but the Hornets were unable to put another one past goal.

"We created some nice chances in the second half," said Kalamazoo Head Coach Bryan Goyings, "but their keeper made some strong saves to preserve the win."

Each team had nine shots in the contest with Adrian holding a 7-4 edge in shots on goal.

Lucy Mailing made five saves in goal for the Hornets.

"The effort tonight was outstanding," Goyings added. "After giving up an early goal it was great to see Sydney even it up."

Kalamazoo is off this weekend before traveling to Calvin College on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

"This group never quits and I look forward to continued improvement over the final two weeks of the season."
