Kalamazoo falls to Calvin 2-0

The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team fell 2-0 on the road Saturday afternoon to Calvin. The Hornets are now 6-2-1 this season, and 3-2-1 in MIAA conference play.

Kalamazoo led the knights in overall shots 14 to 12, but the Hornets were only able to get three shots on goal to Calvin's six.

Lucy Mailing did all she could between the posts and made four saves, but unfortunately for the Hornets two shots were able to get past her.

"We really played well in the second half," said head coach Bryan Goyings. "Lucy made a couple very good saves and their defense had to make three very important plays to stop us from scoring."

Kalamazoo is still looking good as it hasn't dropped out of the top three teams in the MIAA. Coming up for the women is a tough test at home Tuesday, Sept. 30 when they take on top MIAA team Hope.
