Kalamazoo College's Paige Sambor was selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's women's soccer defensive player of the week on Monday.
A sophomore midfielder/defender from Bloomfield Hills (Lahser HS), Sambor played every minute in helping Kalamazoo's defense keep Olivet off the scoreboard in a 1-0 win over the Comets last week. She also scored the game-winning goal in a 4-1 victory over Albion on Saturday.
Sambor is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Kalamazoo College is currently 11-3-1 and in second place in the MIAA with an 8-3-1 league record. The Hornets host Adrian College on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.
