The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award by compiling a cumulative team grade point average of 3.49 in the 2014-15 academic year.
"I am very proud of the team's commitment to academic and athletic excellence," Head Women's Soccer Coach Bryan Goyings said. "It is great to see them rewarded for their diligent work in the classroom."
The list of award winners was announced on Wednesday, Sept. 23 and recognizes teams around the country who compiled a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. All team members who competed in the 2014-15 season are taken into consideration when calculating each team's GPA.
Kalamazoo was one of 554 women's teams, and 859 men's and women's teams total, from around the country to achieve the prestigious distinction.
