Despite holding a significant edge in the shots category, the Kalamazoo College women's soccer team was unable to break the hosting Adrian Bulldogs' backline as Wednesday's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Hornets outshot the Bulldogs 22-4 and held a 6-2 edge in the shots on frame category.
Leading the way in the attacking third for the Hornets were Allie Brodsky and Madeleine Chilcote. They each recorded five shots in the match.
Grace Smith made two saves in goal for the Hornets on the way to her third clean sheet of the season. Kalamazoo Head Coach Bryan Goyings was happy with his backline and the team defending as a whole.
"I was pleased with our effort tonight, especially defensively," he said. "Sarah George and Hayley Buckhout really limited Adrian's chances. It was disappointing to not get three points but MIAA road points must be earned."
The Hornets will have nearly a week off before they travel to Albion College for their next MIAA match on Sept. 29. Kickoff for the game is set for 4 p.m.
