With another year of Hornet athletics coming and going, we've reviewed the best moments of 2015-16 and we're shining a light on them one more time before the 2016-17 year begins.
This week's pick? The women's soccer team beating No. 24 Hope to propel itself into the second half of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association season.

"Smith and Brodsky lift women's soccer past No. 24 Hope"
The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team picked up an important three points in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Wednesday evening as they defeated the No. 24 ranked visitors from Hope College, 2-1.
"I was extremely proud of the team's effort tonight after the loss on Saturday," Kalamazoo Head Coach Bryan Goyings said.
The Flying Dutch entered Wednesday's match undefeated in the MIAA, but the Hornets had plans of their own as Sarah George put one into the top corner from 25 yards out in the 31st minute of play. The goal was George's first of the season.
Hope answered before the halftime whistle as Grace Bubin settled a loose ball inside the penalty area in the 42nd minute leveling the score at one.
Despite being outshot in the match 19-9, Allie Brodsky made the breakthrough for K early in the second half when she whistled a ball over the keeper from the right side of the box. It was also Brodsky's first of the season.
Grace Smith's 10 saves in goal for the Hornets were highlighted by a tackle she made coming out of the penalty area in the 88th minute stopping a Hope breakaway.
"We talked about the importance of winning individual battles and everyone stepped up from Grace in goal to our backline, midfield and forwards," Goyings said. "The win was a total team effort and three big points to start the second half of the MIAA."
With the win, Kalamazoo improves to 6-6-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the league. The Hornets will travel to Trine this Saturday, Oct. 10 for their second to last away match of the regular season.
