Women's Soccer wins home opener 7-0

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team won its home opener in convincing fashion Saturday, beating Saint Mary's by a score of 7-0. 

The Hornets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game behind goals from Madison Moote and Josie Sibley. K continued to pepper the Saint Mary's goal with shots before breaking through again in the 70th minute and proceeding to score five goals in the final 20 minutes. The Hornets finished the game with a 34-2 advantage in shots.

Coach Bryan Goyings was pleased with his team's effort saying, "It was great that multiple individuals were able to find the goal today. Both Maddie Moote and Libby Munoz created numerous scoring opportunities and goals during the game."

Moote finished the game three goals and an assist and Munoz contributed 2 goals. Hannah Wolfe and Maddie Odom combined to earned the shutout for K.

The Hornets will continue their conference schedule when they travel to Alma for a 4 p.m. game on Monday.
