KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Kalamazoo College's Christina Dandar was selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 6 Women's Soccer Team on Thursday. As an Academic All-District selection, Dandar advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

Dandar, a senior defender from Harrison Township (Warren Regina), holds a 3.99 GPA as a psychology major. She adds her second Academic All-District selection to a long list of accomplishments, both academic and athletic, in her career at K. Following her All-District selection last season, she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-American Third Team, one of only two Kalamazoo women's soccer player to earn Academic All-American honors in the last 15 years.

On the field, Dandar has started every game for Kalamazoo for the last three seasons and 75 of 77 for her career. Consistently one of the best defenders in the MIAA, Dandar has been an All-MIAA selection in each of the last three seasons, earning First Team honors in 2016 and Second Team honors in 2015 and 2017. In addition to her consistent defending, Dandar has also contributed to the team offensively, scoring two goals and recording two assists this year. For her career she has five goals and six assists for a total of 16 points.

In addition to being a three time MIAA Academic Honor Roll honoree, Dandar is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and completed her Senior Individualized Project in psychology at the University of Michigan.

Coach Bryan Goyings said, "On the soccer field and in the classroom Christina has provided a tremendous example of drive and determination to excel at whatever she does. It should be noted that there are very few student athletes that receive this honor once and to be named Academic All-District twice during her career is truly a remarkable achievement."

Kalamazoo finished the season with an overall record of 11-8-1 and 10-5-1 in the MIAA.

CoSIDA District 6 includes NCAA Division III schools in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
