Munoz finishes season as NCAA DIII Statistical Champion

Libbby Munoz playing soccer.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team added another impressive recognition to what has been offseason full of honors as Libby Munoz was recognized as the NCAA DIII Statistical Champion for game-winning goals for the 2017-18 season.

Munoz tallied nine game-winning goals this season tying her with Josseline Williams of Dominican (Ill.) for the most in the nation among NCAA DIII schools. The sophomore from Leland consistently delivered in front of goal for the Hornets this year as those nine game-winners accounted for almost half of her MIAA-best 19 total goals. Munoz was outstanding with the game on the line throughout the season as she scored multiple goals within the final two minutes or overtime of contests, highlighted by her goal with 30 seconds remaining to beat nationally ranked Hope at home early in the season.

After leading the Hornets in goals, points, and assists, Munoz received First Team All-MIAA honors as well as Second Team All-Central Region recognition.
