HOLLAND, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's swimming and diving team was narrowly defeated by Hope 155-145 in an MIAA dual meet on Saturday.

Kalamazoo won nine of the 16 events.

The women's team had a number of season bests and both relays were the fastest times of the season. Lauren Seroka made her return to competition after two surgeries to post a K best 1000 time. Colleen Orwin posted three season bests for the Hornets. After setting the Albion 200 IM pool record last week, she followed it up with a Hope pool record in the 400 IM today. Mikayla Doepker had the fastest 100 breaststroke of the season as well.

"The times and scores that the women posted are the best that Kalamazoo has posted in my 12 seasons at K," said Kalamazoo Head Coach Kathy Milliken. "I'm extremely proud of the way the team went out and raced each event. Although we fell a little short, we had a lot of in-season personal bests and we competed head-to-head with one of the best teams in the MIAA which sets us up well to potentially move up from our third place finish last season.
