Six Hornets named to All-MIAA Women's Swimming & Diving Team

Six members of the Kalamazoo College women's swimming & diving team were recognized with All-MIAA honors on Monday.

Hannah Olsen, a senior from Chelsea, Mich. (Chelsea HS), earned All-MIAA honors for the first time after finishing second in the 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle at the recent MIAA Championships. She was also a member of Kalamazoo's championship 200 free relay team.

Miranda Doepker, a junior from Farmington Hills, Mich. (Harrison HS), was recognized for the third straight year after finishing third in the 100 butterfly and competing on the championship 200 free relay team.

Lauren Seroka, a junior from Canton, Mich. (Plymouth-Salem HS), was also recognized for the third straight year after winning championships in the 500 freestyle and 1650 freestyle, her third in a row in both events. She also finished second in the 200 freestyle.

Tristyn Edsall, a sophomore from Kentwood, Mich. (Kelloggsville HS), earned All-MIAA honors for the second year while being named the league's most valuable swimmer. Edsall won the 50 freestyle while breaking the conference record time in prelims. She was a member of two championship relays, the 200 free and 200 medley, and finished second in the 100 freestyle. Edsall was named MIAA Swimmer of the Week during weeks six and eight of the regular season.

Colleen Orwin, a sophomore from Portage, Mich. (Portage Northern HS), was also recognized for the second straight year. Orwin won the 200 individual medley and was a member of the championship 200 medley relay team. She also finished second in the 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley and was named MIAA Swimmer of the Week during weeks one and four this season.

Madeline Woods, a freshman from Ann Arbor, Mich. (Huron HS), was selected to the team after finishing second in the 3M event at the conference championships. She is competing at the NCAA Division III Regionals in Chicago this weekend.
