SHENANDOAH, Texas - Colleen Orwin won the consolation heat with a time of :55.32 in the 100 butterfly at the NCAA III Championships on Thursday.

Her ninth place finish gave Kalamazoo its first team points of the meet. Her time also broke her own school record as well as the MIAA open record. She had set the school record in the morning during prelims at :56.06, shaving over half a second off her time tonight in the finals.

Kalamazoo also had two relay teams compete this morning in prelims. The 400 medley relay (Christina Park, Ellen Neveux, Colleen Orwin, Tristyn Edsall) finished 18th with a time of 3:56.18, narrowly missing out on an appearance in the finals. The 200 free relay (Park, Edsall, Orwin, Neveux) finished 22nd at 1:37.20.

The championships continue through Saturday.
