Despite a team setback against Calvin this weekend, swimmer Colleen Orwin and diver Madeline Woods were named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Swimmer of the Week and Diver of the Week Monday afternoon for their outstanding individual efforts against the Knights.
Orwin, the MIAA's reigning Most Valuable Swimmer, won three individual events Saturday including the 200 butterfly (2:14.83), 100 butterfly (59.91) and 400 individual medley (4:44.43).
This is the sixth time Orwin's been honored as the MIAA Swimmer of the Week in her career.
Woods placed first in the 3M dive with a score of 258.30.
She's being honored as the MIAA's Diver of the Week for the second time in her three-year career.
Next up for Orwin, Woods and the rest of the Hornets is the MIAA Championships spanning from Feb. 15-18 in Holland.
