KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Kalamazoo College's Nicki Bailey and Molly Logsdon were honored Monday afternoon as the MIAA Diver and Swimmer of the Week, respectively.
Bailey, a sophomore from Grand Rapids, Mich. (Forest Hills Central HS), broke her own school in the 1-meter (11 dives) event en route to a winning score of 448.43 against Calvin on Saturday. She also finished second in the 3-meter event with a score of 452.48.
On Friday against Olivet, Bailey's 279.25 score in the 3-meter was also victorious.
This marks the third time this season that Bailey has been named the Diver of the Week by the MIAA and the second week in a row.
Logsdon, a senior from Berkley, Mich. (Berkley HS), won four different events in the two meets this weekend.
Against Olivet, Logsdon won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:39.35 and was a winner in the 200 Medley Relay with a 1:53.73 time as a team.
On Saturday, the senior bettered her time in the 200 breaststroke by posting a winning time of 2:32.99. She also won the 100 breaststroke with a 1:09.43.
Logsdon's 200 Medley Relay team finished in second on Saturday with a time of 1:52.24.
This was the Hornets' last dual meet of the season as they prepare for the MIAA Championships Feb. 20-23 in Holland.
