Becca Zoetewey of the Kalamazoo College women's swimming and diving team was named the MIAA Women's Diver of the Week on Monday (Oct. 23). This is the first time the senior has earned the honor.
Kalamazoo continued its season at the MIAA Relays on Oct. 20 and with a home dual against Aquinas. The MIAA Relays were unscored and the Hornets fell to the Saints 130-103.
Zoetewey won the six-dive three-meter event with 178.88 points while taking second in the one-meter with 155.48 points. Her career-best in the 1M came in the 2021-22 season, where she scored 189.05 points. Then, in the 3M, Zoetewey's best point total was 196.03, coming in the 2022-23 season. After losing Sarah Densham to graduation and junior Sam Vande Pol not competing yet this season, the Hornets are leaning on Zoetewey to lead the diving group.
The Hornets are scheduled to compete next in a home double dual meet against Hope and Olivet on Friday (Oct. 27).
