Kalamazoo College's Jenna Riehl was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's (MIAA) Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday.
A senior from St. Joseph, Mich. (St. Joseph HS), Riehl posted a three-set victory at No. 2 singles, 6-7, 6-2, 6-2, for the clinching point as the Hornets defeated an Ohio Northern team ranked 13th in the region 6-3 in a nonconference match. She also had a 6-0, 6-0 win as Kalamazoo defeated Baldwin Wallace 9-0 and won both of her doubles matches as well.
Riehl is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time in her career.
Kalamazoo College (2-0) is ranked No. 15 in the Central Region. The Hornets host University of Chicago on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. The Maroons are ranked No. 1 in the Central Region and No. 8 nationally.
