Women's Tennis defeats SCAD 8-1

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team improved to 4-1 on the season with an 8-1 victory over Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) Thursday, Mar. 21.

After sweeping all three doubles flights, Kalamazoo's only loss of the match game at first singles as senior Jenna Reihl fell to Paula Peters 7-5, 6-3.

Freshman Sabrina Dass won the first set of the third singles match in a tiebreak, 7-6(4). The Grand Blanc native closed out the match winning set two 6-4.

The Hornets made quick work of the Bees in the remaining singles flights. Senior Kelsey Moran and sophomore Ania Latala won second and fourth singles respectively by scores of 6-2, 6-1 in both flights.

Junior Olivia Bouchard won fifth singles 6-2, 6-0 while Siani Johnson defeated Alexandra Nazario 6-0, 6-2 at sixth singles.

Kalamazoo has two matches remaining on its spring trip. The Hornets will face George Fox (Ore.) on Mar. 22 and Hamilton (N.Y.) on Mar. 25.
