Women's Tennis earns ITA All-Academic Award

The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team garnered honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Monday, July 14. The Hornets earned the All-Academic Team Award. The award is given out to teams with a cumulative 3.2 grade point average or above.

In addition to the team award, several members of the 2014 team earned individual honors. Jenna Riehl, Olivia Bouchard, Sally Harrison, Carrie Foura, Cheryl Zhang and Elizabeth Tyburski were named ITA Scholar Athletes. To earn this honor, individuals needed to achieve a 3.5 grade point average or better while also earning a varsity letter.

During the 2013-14 season, Kalamazoo won its first outright Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship since 1995and advanced to finals of the MIAA tournament.
