WHITTIER, Calif. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team lost 5-4 at Whittier College on Wednesday.

Kalamazoo trailed 2-1 after doubles following tiebreaker losses at two and three. Maria Franco and Olivia Bouchard lost 9-8(2) at two doubles while Cheryl Zhang and Carrie Foura lost 9-8(3) at three doubles. Sarah Woods and Sabrina Dass won 8-3 at one doubles.

Kalamazoo earned wins at one, two and six singles, but the Hornets fell a point short in winning the match.

Sarah Woods won 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 at one singles while Maria Franco won 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 at two singles. Carrie Foura won 6-0, 6-1 at six singles.

Kalamazoo is now 6-4 overall and travels to Wheaton College on Saturday, March 28 before returning to conference play at Olivet on Sunday.
