WHEATON, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team won 5-4 at Wheaton College in a regional matchup on Saturday.
Kalamazoo is currently ranked No. 10 in the region while Wheaton is ranked No. 14.
Kalamazoo held a 2-1 lead after wins at one and two doubles. Sarah Woods and Sabrina Dass won 8-2 at No. 1 while Cheryl Zhang and Carrie Foura won 8-5 at No. 2.
Kalamazoo won in straight sets at one and six singles, but Wheaton won in straight sets at three, four and five leaving the match tied at 4-4.
Sabrina Dass clinched the win for Kalamazoo with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 win at No. 2.
Sarah Woods won 6-1, 7-6(2) at No. 1 while Carrie Foura won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
Kalamazoo (7-4, 2-0 MIAA) returns to conference play with a match against Olivet College on Sunday at Minges Creek at 1 p.m.
