SEGUIN, Texas - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team defeated Texas Lutheran University 5-4 on Monday.
Kalamazoo fell behind 2-1 after doubles before winning four of the six singles matches to secure the win. Katie Clark's 7-5, 6-2 win at six singles was the clincher for the Hornets.
Sarah Woods and Sabrina Dass had a big win (8-2) at one doubles.
Woods, ranked No. 19 in the nation in singles, defeated No. 11 Sofia Vega in three sets (6-1, 0-6, 6-1).
Dass earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at three singles while Siani Johnson won 6-2, 6-4 at four.
Kalamazoo is playing three matches in The Lone Star State this week. The Hornets face Trinity on Tuesday followed by Texas-Tyler on Wednesday.
