KALAMAZOO, Mich. – With the Kalamazoo College women's tennis team compiling a 2-1 record on its spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. last week, Sabrina Dass earned the recognition of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association with the honor of the league's women's tennis player of the week award.
Dass compiled a combined singles and doubles record of 5-1 during the team's three games last week including a perfect 3-0 record in her singles matches.
A senior from Grand Blanc, Mich., Dass's highlight win of the week came against Carthage College's Max Mella on March 23. Dass trailed 1-4 in the first set before winning 6-4 and found herself down 1-5 in the second set before once again battling all the way back taking the game 7-5 and ultimately the match.
An All-MIAA First Team selection last season, this is the fourth time Dass has been named the MIAA's player of the week.
