KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Laura Hanselman of the Kalamazoo College women's tennis team was honored by the Athletic Leadership Council on Tuesday as the Hornet of the Week.
Hanselman, a junior from Ann Arbor, Mich. (Huron HS), finished the week with a 2-0 record at one singles with wins of 6-0, 6-0 over Olivet and 6-0, 6-1 against Albion. Hanselman also defeated Olivet 8-0 at one doubles.
Hanselman is undefeated in her last three singles matches and is now 3-1 in MIAA matches this season.
An All-MIAA Second Team member as a freshman, Hanselman has worked her way up from two and three singles in her first two seasons to anchor the Hronets at the top singles spot.
The Hornets plays host to Saint Mary's on Tuesday before traveling to face Lake Forest and Wheaton on Saturday.
