KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College Athletic Leadership Council announced Tuesday that Maddy Winarski of the women's tennis team was named Hornet of the Week.
Winarski, a sophomore from Rochester Hills, Mich. (Notre Dame Prep), was victorious in all five of her matches this week and was pivotal in Kalamazoo's second place MIAA finish.
Winarski has won seven matches in a row including her wins at No. 2 singles over Trine, Calvin, and Adrian this week. Winarski also won both of her doubles matches on the week.
On top of the recognition from the ALC, Winarski was also honored by the MIAA as this week's Player of the Week.
The Hornets host Saint Mary's in an MIAA Semifinal on Wednesday, May 1 at 4 p.m.
