Volleyball falls in five to Saint Mary's

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost in five sets to Saint Mary's College on Saturday.

Kalamazoo won the first set 25-21, but dropped the next two 25-13 and 28-26.

The Hornets came back to win the fourth set 25-19, but were edged out 15-13 in the fifth set.

Saint Mary's hit slightly better in the match, .085 to Kalamazoo's .079. The Belles also had an eight to five advantage in service aces while each team had 10 total team blocks.

Kelsey Hill led Kalamazoo with 16 kills and seven block assists while hitting .333 for the match.

Kaela Van Til had 12 kills with 15 digs. Nya Greenstone had 10 kills with 22 digs while Paige Johnson had 10 kills and a .304 attack percentage. 

Alex Gothard had 42 assists with 10 digs. Logan Horejsi had 32 digs while Dana Devito added 22 digs.

Kalamazoo returns to action with its final home match of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. against Adrian.
