The Kalamazoo College volleyball team is set to honor its lone senior, Olivia Cares, Friday evening when the Hornets welcome Albion College to the Anderson Athletic Center.
Cares, a middle hitter, is currently second on the team in blocks and third on the team in kills. Her passion for the game on the court is matched by her enthusiasm off the court according to Head Coach Jeanne Hess.
"Olivia has been a joy to coach because of her love of the game and her leadership in everything from playing the game, to excellence in the classroom, to issues of social justice and service," Hess said. "She has inspired our team to commit to several service opportunities, including serving lunch at Ministry With Community every Thursday through the academic year. She stands tall on this team, and we are so very proud of her efforts on and off the court!"
The match between the Hornets and Britons is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Friday.
