Volleyball drops openers at Anderson Invite

ANDERSON, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost its first two matches of the season on Friday at the Anderson Raven Invitational. 

Kalamazoo lost the opener to Mount St. Joseph 25-14, 25-15, 25-20.

Shelby Suseland led the Hornets with nine kills while Kael Van Til added five kills with nine digs.

Kaiya Herman-Hilker led the team with 21 assists while Dana DeVito posted 16 digs.

The Hornets dropped the second match to Franklin 25-19, 25-16, 25-22. 

Suseland again led the way offensively with nine kills. Van Til finished with seven kills and 11 digs while Sidney Wall and Maria Katrantzi each recorded five kills.

Herman-Kilker had 27 assists while DeVito had 19 digs.

Kalamazoo returns to action Saturday with a match against Anderson at 10 a.m. followed by Manchester at 2 p.m.
