Volleyball Falls in Five Sets at Saint Mary's

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost a non-conference matchup in five sets at Saint Mary's College Friday night.

After losing the first set 26-24, Kalamazoo took a 2-1 lead with 25-21 and 25-19 wins in the second and third sets, respectively. Saint Mary's came back with a 25-18 win in the fourth to even it up before winning the fifth set 15-9.

Saint Mary's hit .239 in the match compared to .190 for Kalamazoo.

Madi Goodman led the Hornets with 15 kills and three blocks.

Maria Katrantzi posted 11 kills with just two errors in 37 attempts.

Lindsey Nedd had 10 kills while Ashley Rill also had 10 kills to go with 18 digs.

Grace Kraft tallied 42 assists with 14 digs while Taylor Ferguson led the team with 19 digs and three aces. McKenna Hepler reached double-digits with 10 digs.

Kalamazoo returns to league play on Tuesday, Oct. 8 with a 7 p.m. match at Hope.
