Volleyball Falls at No. 22 Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost in three sets at No. 22 Albion College Tuesday night, 25-9, 25-14, 25-9.

Kalamazoo led 6-3 in the first set before the Britons went on a 10-0 run. Albion also scored the last seven points of the set.

Kalamazoo led 3-0 in the second set before falling behind 5-4. After a 7-7 tie, Albion went on a 5-0 run to take a 12-7 lead. The Hornets were within five points (17-12) when Albion scored eight of the last 10 points to win the set.

Kalamazoo trailed 9-5 in the third set when Albion went on a 5-0 run to make it 14-5. After two Kalamazoo points, Albion got to match point with 10 straight points. Kalamazoo scored the next two before Albion closed out the set and the match.

Charlotte Ruiter led the Hornets with seven kills. Emma Stickley added four. Stickley was also credited with three blocks.

Jana Molby led the team with 10 assists. Sara Reathaford finished with eight.

Morgan Shearer had a team-high six digs. Molby finished with five. Lizzy Rachiele, Reathaford and Halley Johnson each had four.

Kalamazoo hosts an Alumni Game Saturday morning as part of Homecoming. The Hornets close out the regular season at home against Calvin on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.
