Lauren Arquette was selected as the Kalamazoo College Athletic Leadership Council's women's Hornet of the Week this week.
Arquette, a senior from Canton, Mich. (Salem HS), was Kalamazoo's top finisher at the Grand Rapids Community College Raider Invitational at Prairie Wolf Park in Caledonia, Mich. on Saturday.
Her time of 18:28.5 placed her 12th among collegians, behind only athletes from scholarship-granting programs Wayne State, Aquinas, and Cornerstone, and 41 seconds ahead of the next-fastest DIII and MIAA athlete.
Lauren led the Hornets to a sixth-place finish in the meet; just behind Hope and ahead of Calvin's JV team and Alma's varsity.
Along with her honors from the Kalamazoo College ALC, Arquette was also named the MIAA Runner of the Week on Monday.
