What is your favorite sports moment at K?
Our 200 medley relay breaking the MIAA record and making it to Nationals two years in a row.

Why did you choose to attend Kalamazoo College?
I wanted to be able to continue to play a sport while receiving an excellent education. I knew both the academics and the swim program at K fit me very well. On a very generic level, I want to be "a name, not a number" with the small class sizes available at K.

What do you enjoy most about road trips during your season?
It's always fun to just goof off and laugh during the road trips to meets and to forget about the hard events you might have to swim that day or if the team is really tough (Hope or Calvin) and be able to still have some fun before the meet starts.

What is your least favorite thing about road trips during your season?
Sometimes it's frustrating with the anticipation of a big meet looming over you while being on the bus to the meet and you just want to be able to get there and get it over with.

What is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class was Negotiations and Persuasions with Dr. Hultberg. Not only was it a lot of fun, but I learned a lot and this class was what inspired me to pursue my topic for my SIP.

Who is your favorite professor and why?
Although I have only had one class with Dr. Hultberg, I really enjoyed the class. He was able to relate a lot of what we read in textbooks and talked about in class to the real world, which allowed it to not only be fun, but I was also able to learn a lot.

Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby?
I love to go to the movies to be able to relax and get off campus.

What is your favorite meal in the cafeteria?
Strawberry and brie salad.

Who is your role model?
My mom is definitely my role model. Even when she goes through hard things, she always sees the best in situations and is able to keep a smile on her face. She has definitely been there though my tough times and supports me with everything I do. If I can grow up to be half of the person my mom is, I will be happy.

What do you enjoy most about practice?
Since we have two different practices every day, it's fun to have different people in your practice depending on the day of the week.

What do you like least about practice?
When you go to the second practice and you hear that the set is miserably hard and then you know you have to get in the pool and do it anyways.

What is the topic of your SIP?
Face to face vs email negotiations- How to improve negotiations over email.

What are your plans/goals after graduation?
After graduation, I plan on entering the working world and pursuing a career in public relations or marketing.
