Internship: BELFOR Property Restoration

My Summer

This summer I interned for BELFOR Property Restoration in Troy, Michigan. A few of the things that I enjoyed most about my internship is that not only is every day different from the last, but often we find ourselves helping homeowners and business owners through the worst tragedy they have ever experienced, so it is quite a rewarding feeling to help get them back into their home or business. Another aspect of this internship that I enjoyed is the fact that it took me outside of my comfort zone in terms of being a Business major. Surely there are many applications off business practices in the property restoration industry, however, this internship forced me to pick up on a wide range of construction knowledge in a relatively short period of time while on the job. Fortunately, everyone at the Troy office was more than willing to give me a hand this past summer, which made for a great learning experience and a pleasurable working environment.

What's Next

The one thing I look forward to most in my last year here at K is being in a position to be a positive role model and influence for my younger teammates. I remember being an underclassman and always looking up to my older teammates as role models, so I hope I can be that guy for our underclassmen. In addition, the baseball program puts a great deal of emphasis on our legacy as student athletes, in terms of leaving our mark on the program. With that being said, I hope to be able to go out on top with a conference championship, and leave the baseball program better than it was when I first came to K.
