Baseball Drops Two to Williams

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader to Williams College on Monday, 10-9 in eight innings and 8-5.

Game One

Williams defeated Kalamazoo 10-9 in extras with the winning run scoring on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Kalamazoo jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first inning highlighted by a two-run home run by Chase Coselman.

Williams scored two in the second and pulled ahead with four runs in the third.

Kalamazoo trailed 6-5 after four innings, but a three-run fifth put the Ephs up 9-5. Kalamazoo scored a run in the sixth on Zach Prystash's triple before tying the game in the top of the seventh on RBI singles by Prystash and Coselman.

Williams took advantage of a single and walks in the bottom of the eight to claim the win.

Noah Hecht was 3-for-5. Chase Coselman had two hits including a home run and four RBIs. Zach Prystash had two hits including a triple, three RBIs, and two stolen bases.

Game Two

Williams overcame a 4-2 deficit to win the second game 8-5.

Williams scored two in the top of the first and held a 2-0 lead into the fourth inning. Kalamazoo tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single by Stefan Leclerc and an RBI double by Max Moran.

Kalamazoo took the 4-2 lead into the top of the seventh where Williams took advantage of several walks and two singles to score six runs and go up 8-4. Chase Coselman doubled to lead off the bottom of the seventh and scored on Noah Hecht's single to right, but the Hornets were unable to score again.

Chase Coselman had two doubles in the game and scored twice. Max Moran had two hits including a double. Alex Fultz had two hits including a home run and two RBIs.

Kalamazoo is scheduled to return to action Wednesday with a game against St. Olaf in Auburndale, Fla.
