Men's Basketball falls at No. 23 Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 77-59 to No. 23 Trine University in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday.

Kalamazoo played Trine close in the first half and led by as many as three points (31-28) with 4:34 remaning. The host Thunder closed out the half on a 12-4 run to take a 40-35 lead into the break.

Kalamazoo was still within three points (46-43) with 13:17 remaining before a 14-1 run by Trine put the Hornets behind by double digits, a deficit they were unable to overcome.

After shooting 51.6 percent in the first half, Kalamazoo finished the game at 41 percent. Trine shot 47.5 percent.

Demarco Dickerson led Kalamazoo with 20 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Josh Miller added 10 points with seven rebounds while Adam Dykema scored 10 points with four rebounds.

Josh Whitney scored nine points with four rebounds while Chase Baysdell led the team with 10 rebounds and three assists.

Kalamazoo returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 13 at Albion College.
