GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team lost a regional matchup 7-2 at Denison University on Saturday.
The host Big Red (4-2) entered the contest ranked No. 11 in the region while the Hornets (3-3) were ranked No. 12.
Denison swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead before winning four of the six singles matches. The match was closer than the final score, however, as two of Denison's wins (5 & 6 singles) were in third set super tiebreakers after the match outcome had been determined.
Kalamazoo's Branden Metzler won 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles while Peter Rothstein won 6-4, 7-6 at No. 2 singles.
The Hornets are off until March 23 when they travel to Swarthmore, Pa. to face Franklin & Marshall for the first match during their annual spring trip.
