Men's Tennis Falls to No. 17 Gustavus Adolphus

JACKSON, Wis. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team lost 7-2 to Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday.

The Gusties entered the match ranked No. 17 in the nation and third in the region while the Hornets were ranked No. 28 in the nation and seventh in the region.

Gustavus won two of the three singles matches before winning five of the six singles matches.

Alex Cadigan and Tytus Metzler won 8-3 at three doubles.

Casey Johnson won 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 at four singles.

The Hornets had close matches at one and two doubles, falling 8-6 at number one (Ian Yi/Daniel Henry) to the region's top-ranked team, and 8-5 at number two (Allen Vinson/Zack Ray).

Daniel Henry lost 6-4, 7-5 at one singles to the region's No. 5 player. Tytus Metzler lost 7-6, 6-4 at two singles to the region's No. 14 player.

Kalamazoo returns to league play with a match at Hope on Thursday, April 18 at 4 p.m.
