Dean Marks completed his 17th season as Kalamazoo College's head women’s golf coach in 2019-20.
Coach Marks has coached Hornet golfers to school records and each of the top-10 golfers for single-season and career averages. The top-10 individual and team scores have also been posted during Marks' tenure.
Marks grew up in Lawton, Mich. and graduated from Paw Paw High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Eastern Kentucky University in 1993 where he played varsity golf for four years and was team captain his senior year. Marks earned Academic All-America honors twice.
Marks has served as PGA Golf Professional at Milham Park Golf Club and Grand Prairie Golf Course since 1997. He is the director of the Junior Golf Association of Southwest Michigan, was named the “2007 Junior Golf Leader” by the Michigan PGA, and was named a “Top 50 Kids Teacher” by U.S. Kids Golf in 2008, 2009, and 2010. He is one of only a few PGA professionals in Michigan to attain specialty certification in instruction and has been certified as a Level 1 Fitness Professional as well as Level 2 Junior Coach by the Titleist Performance Institute.
Milham Park Golf Club will continue to serve as the home course for the Hornets.
