With another year of Hornet athletics coming and going, we've reviewed the best moments of 2015-16 and we're shining a light on them one more time before the 2016-17 year begins.

This week's pick? The women's lacrosse team making its first ever MIAA postseason tournament after a fourth place finish during the regular season.

Clinching Recap

"Women's lacrosse makes MIAA tournament despite loss"

ADRIAN, Mich. – After a dramatic win against St. Mary's two days ago, the Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team put itself in a good position to make the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's postseason tournament in the final day of regular season competition Saturday.

Despite falling to Adrian College 12-6 this afternoon, the Hornets will travel to Albion College for a semifinal match up on Thursday, May 5.

A St. Mary's loss at Hope Saturday afternoon clinchMIAAhe Hornets' berth in the MIAA tournament.

Kalamazoo controlled its own destiny heading into Saturday's game, but a slow start from the Hornets put them in a 7-0 hole in the first 23 minutes of the game.

Amanda Moss scored back-to-back goals late in the first half hoping to spark Kalamazoo as they trailed 8-2 at halftime.

Moss and Anna Dairaghi opened the second half with a goal apiece to cut the deficit to four, but that's as close as Kalamazoo would get to clinching its postseason berth on its own.

Hannah Meyers and Nicole Huff each added goals for K down the stretch as Adrian added four more.

With the loss, Kalamazoo ends the regular season with a 4-4 record in the program's first season under the direction of Head Coach Jess Smith.

Thursday's semifinal at Albion is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
