HOLLAND, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's swimming and diving team is in third place after the opening night of competition at the MIAA Championships after finishing third in the 800 Free Relay, the only Finals event of the night.
Kalamazoo's Colleen Orwin, Lauren Seroka, Miranda Doepker and Hannah Olsen finished in 7:41.84 which broke the school record by over six seconds. The time is also an NCAA "B" qualifying time and was just over a half second behind Hope and 1.78 seconds behind Calvin.
The MIAA Championships run through Saturday and open up with the 200 Free Relay on Thursday.
