Hornets fall to Trine in five sets

The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost in five sets to Trine University on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets have lost their first two conference games this season, but still hold an overall record of 4-2.

Saturday's game was a seesaw battle as the Hornets and Thunder traded sets back and forth with the Thunder winning the fifth set 15-11, and the match 3-2.

Kalamazoo senior Nya Greenstone had a solid game with 10 kills and 14 digs. Hornet sophomore Kaela Van Til also had a productive afternoon with 13 kills and four blocks.

Paige Johnson added 10 kills with seven blocks.

Alex Gothard led the team with 39 assists and 11 digs. Logan Horejsi had a team-high 28 digs.

The Hornets will look to rebound from this loss tomorrow as they'll take on conference opponent Albion at home at 1 p.m.
